ASA to fly for United as United Express

ASA (Atlantic Southeast Airlines) (Atlanta) will operate 13 regional jets for United Airlines as a new United Express carrier for five years starting in the first quarter of 2010. ASA currently only operates as a Delta Connection carrier.

This new agreement is part of ASA’s parent (SkyWest, Inc.) loan to United Airlines of $80 million (at 11 percent interest). SkyWest Airlines’ contract with United to operate 40 regional jets for United has also been extended.
