Allegiant to start nonstop Salisbury-Sanford flights

Allegiant Air McDonnell Douglas DC-9-87 (MD-87) N949MA (msn 49779) FLL (Bruce Drum), originally uploaded by Airliners Gallery.

Allegiant Air (Las Vegas) will start twice-weekly nonstop jet service between Salisbury, MD (SBY) and Sandord, FL via Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) on February 16, 2012.

The Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport is the only airport with scheduled airline service on the Delmarva Peninsula and therefore is the hub of air transportation for the whole region. Allegiant will bring the only nonstop, commercial air service from the peninsula to central Florida.
