Air Canada to add Athens and Barcelona

Air Canada (Montreal) is planning to add new service to Athens and Barcelona from both Montreal and Toronto in the summer of 2010. ย Boeing 767-300 ERs will be operated on the new routes.

JetBlue to add more flights from SFO

Frontier Airlines (2nd) and Lynx Aviation (Frontier Airline Holdings) (Denver) which reports monthly during its bankruptcy protection, reported a $17.8 million net profit in July.

Boeing announces a new 787 schedule, FF in Dec.

Boeing (Chicago and Seattle) has announced a new 787 Dreamliner schedule which now includes the first flight before the end of this year.

AmeriJet International to fly through IBT strike

AmeriJet International (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and Miami) has announced it will attempt to continue to maintain cargo operations at MIA despite a strike by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) representing the flight crews.

QANTAS Airways takes delivery of fourth A380

QANTAS Airways (Sydney) on August 24 took delivery of its fourth Airbus A380-842 registered VH-OQD (msn 26). The new airliner is named “Fergus McMaster” after one of its founders and its first chairman. The new addition will permit the company to increase frequency on the Sydney-Singapore-London and Sydney-Los Angeles routes.

Airberlin is considering canceling Boeing 787s

Airberlin (Berlin-Tegel) is considering canceling its order for 25 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners as it reassesses its long-range strategy along with the delivery delays. On the financial side, the company saw a 33 percent increase in profits in the second quarter to $25 million.
