MASwings to display an ATR 72-500 at Lima 2009

MASwings (Miri) will display its latest ATR 72-212A (ATR 72-500) at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhi bition (Lima 2009) from December 1-5.

Can an airline from Atlanta be the “airline of New York City”?

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) is spending a lot of resources and hard work to convince New Yorkers that it is now the “airline of New York City”. It also wants to have the most number of NYC flights with its new dual airport (JFK and LGA) strategy. What will be the response from Dallas/Fort Worth-based American Airlines, Houston-based Continental Airlines or even locally-based jetBlue Airways?

Alaska Airlines unveils “Apolo One”

Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma) on November 17 at its SEA base unveiled “Apolo One” with a photo decal image of U.S. speed skater Apolo Ohno applied to its Boeing 737-890 N596AS (msn 35688).

The company has also created a website to follow Apolo’s activities leading up to and including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC.

V Australia starts Los Angeles-Melbourne service today

V Australia Airlines (Sydney) today (November 29) launches a new route linking Los Angeles with Melbourne.

ANA introduces its Boeing 767 1969 All Nippon Airways retrojet

ANA (All Nippon Airways) (Tokyo-Haneda) as planned has introduced its 1969 “Mohican Blue”  livery retrojet on Boeing 767-381 JA602A (msn 27944).

 

AIRES starts Bogota-Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood service

AIRES Colombia (Aerovías de Integración Regional) (Bogota) started its first route to the United States when it added the Bogota-Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood route on November 25.

Jamaica Air Shuttle to start operations on December 4

Jamaica Air Shuttle (Kingston) will start scheduled passenger operations on December 4 linking Tinson Pen Airport in Kingston with Montego Bay with 14-seat Beech 99 turboprops.
