ExpressJet Airlines is reportedly planning another return, this time as a Boeing 777 charter airline:

ExpressJet, which flew as Aha! using E145s, ceased operations almost a year ago.

Now ExpressJet wants to relaunch flights initially with a single Boeing 777-200ER for passenger charters.

Previously ExpressJet Airlines on August 23, 2022 filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 in Delaware and ceased all flight operations.

ExpressJet has been operating as “aha!” from Reno-Tahoe to 11 cities in the western United States and had also been providing ad-hoc charter services over the past six months.

ExpressJet was the “reboot” of the airline that flew as Delta Connection and United Express for several decades and is the amalgamation of Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Continental Express. At its peak, ExpressJet operated more than 450 aircraft.
