The historic Monarch Airlines brand has been passed to a new ownership group which is planning to restart operations under the Monarch brand.

This announcement was made:

Monarch Airlines Limited and Monarch Holidays Limited were passed into new ownership following the exit of the companies’ founder and previous majority shareholder. More information will be forthcoming.

We are a brand-new company which was founded in January 2023 to continue the Monarch legacy for years to come.

Now in its 55th year, the Monarch brand has been entrusted to a new company, which is holding the original values of Monarch close to its heart – or crown! – through its Monarch Promise as well as daily commitments to ensure that all customers enjoy a perfect holiday in the sun.

The first version of Monarch Airlines ceased operations on October 2, 2017.
