LATAM Airlines of Chile unveils a new “Santiago 2023” scheme on CC-BGS

LATAM Airlines (Chile) has painted a special “Santiago 2023” scheme on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner CC-BGS.

The scheme features “Flu” of the Tachuris Rubrigastra species, native to midwestern South America.

The special scheme celebrates the Pan American Games in Santiago in 2023.

The airliner will transport the Pan American flame from Mexico to Chile.

Panam Sports issued this statement:

The skies of the Americas will be home to the Official Plane of Santiago 2023 and the 19th edition of the Pan American Games.

Latam Airlines on September 5 presented the Boeing 787 specially branded for the Games featuring the colors, the logo and the mascot of this continental sports festival.

The ceremony held at the Latam Base hangar at the Santiago Airport was attended by the Minister Secretary General of the Government of Chile, Camila Vallejos, the Undersecretary of Sports, Antonia Illanes, the President of Panam Sports, Neven Ilic, the Executive Director of Santiago 2023, Harold Mayne Nicholls and the Executive President of the airline, Ignacio Cueto.

The Latam Airlines plane will be the same one that on September 29 will have the mission of transporting the Pan American Flame to Chile after it is ignited in the traditional ceremony held in Teotihuacan, Mexico that officially begins the torch relay. It will travel throughout Chile before arriving on to the National Stadium on October 20 where the torch will light the cauldron to officially begin the long-awaited celebration of the best athletes of the Americas.

In addition to the presentation of the plane for the Games, Latam Airlines signed an important agreement with the Chilean Olympic Committee to become the Official Airline of Team Chile at Santiago 2023.

The Santiago 2023 Pan American Games begin on October 20 where more than 6,900 athletes from 41 countries will compete in what will be the most important and largest multisport event ever held in the history of Chile.
