Emirates has suspended all local check-in at Dubai today due to severe weather and flooding.

The airline will operate and transport only in-transit passengers through DXB.

The airline issued this statement:

Emirates is suspending check-in for passengers departing Dubai (DXB) from 8:00am on April 17 until midnight, due to operational challenges caused by bad weather and road conditions.

Look at the global infrared satellite from the past 24 hours. A low pressure system did pass across the Gulf of Oman and Persian Gulf, causing rain and storms. That apparently was enhanced to some degree by cloud seeding. Either way, historic rains and floods in Dubai!… pic.twitter.com/CkUU6p0vIr
