American takes the next step for new uniforms: Field test begins

American Airlines made this announcement:

After much anticipation and excitement, today more than 1,000 American Airlines team members from Flight Service, Airport Customer Service and Premium Customer Services will begin field testing their new uniform. The six-month field test is the next step in delivering an industry-leading uniform program designed in collaboration with frontline team members, ensuring the highest levels of textile safety, comfort, durability and brand integrity.

Over the past year, frontline team members from these workgroups have served on American’s Frontline Uniform Advisory Team (FUAT), making key decisions that have a direct impact not only on how American proceeds with the new uniform, but also the breadth and depth of the changes made to its uniform collection.

Those participating in the field test represent 51,000 team members who will don the new uniform when it rolls out in late 2019. Throughout the testing period, field testers will provide weekly feedback on the fit, form and function of the uniform and are responsible for listening to input from their colleagues and sharing that information, too.

NokScoot unveils its first Boeing 777, uniforms and a sexy video

NokScoot (Bangkok-Don Mueang) has unveiled its first painted Boeing 777-200 as it prepares for its first flight.

The new airline, a joint venture between Nok Air and Scoot, has also unveiled its new uniforms (below) with this announcement and photo:

“NokScoot proudly introduces its cabin crew uniform. The minimalist design, applying vivid yellow and neat black colors, allows our cabin crew to perform duties comfortably. It also represents the airline in our own fun and cheerful way.”

United Airlines employees debut new uniforms worldwide

United Airlines‘ (Chicago) employees worldwide – including flight attendants, customer service agents, technical operations and ramp workers – begin wearing newly designed uniforms this week, the first time members of these work groups will wear similarly styled uniforms. More than 64,000 United employees will debut the garments, which feature accents of blue, gold, silver and gray.

United pilots will begin wearing newly designed uniforms later this year in the traditional midnight blue color with gold stripes and accents. Other uniform design concepts include:

Flight Attendants: The uniform includes a core wardrobe of black trousers, skirts, sweaters, vests and blazers with two rows of silver braid on the sleeves. Female flight attendants will also wear sweaters, vests, short sleeve jackets and two styles of dresses, including a signature blue dress with a black stripe detail. Outerwear for male and female flight attendants includes a black all-season coat and an optional gray double-breasted wool coat.
Customer Service Agents: The uniform includes a wardrobe of black blazers, trousers, sweaters, vests and skirts. Agents will also wear colored shirts and distinctive neckwear that vary depending on their job responsibilities.
Ramp, Cargo and Technical Operations: The uniform offers flexibility, comfort and durability for year round comfort. Employees will wear work shirts, polo shirts and T-shirts made with breathable and flexible fabric. The pants, shorts and coveralls for both men and women feature a soft, brushed fabric. Outerwear for ramp, cargo and technical operations workers includes a three-piece system consisting of a zip-up fleece-lined vest, jacket and waterproof outer shell. The uniform also includes waterproof wind pants, hooded sweatshirts, baseball caps and knit caps.

Air Dolomiti (Verona) has introduced new uniforms for its cabin staff. The airline issued this statement:

Air Dolomiti has presented itsnew collection of clothing and accessories for its flight assistants. This location, truly unique due to its architectural beauty, the materials used and the elegant design, was the ideal background for the event, with a glamorous and sophisticated atmosphere.

Designed by Laura Strambi, renowned fashion designer and Director of the ‘Laura Strambi – Yoj di Milano’ line, this new collection is distinguished by its elegance, refinedness and careful choice of fabrics: thanks, in fact, to the use of natural materials, the new uniforms guarantee comfort and easy movement; the tailored jacket, the skirt and the sleek slacks are all made from pure stretch wool. The down jacket, the new element within the collection, created with wool finishes, and the waterproof cotton trench are just some of the many items now available.

The various different models are made unique by the attention to detail, which has always been the strength of the Airline, and the search for new lines which create a sophisticated and modern silhouette. The use of turquoise, the corporate colour of Air Dolomiti, combined with grey, donates elegance and refinedness, the unmistakeable traits of the Airline.

Thanks are due to the assistance of the Carmi & Ubertis agency in Milan, which specialises in the construction, communication and management of brand image, who provided key consultancy on the Air Dolomiti image, andMetiki, a company in Busto Arsizio who transformed the precious fabrics into elegant uniforms.

The presentation also revealed for the first time the new in-flight service (available in a few weeks’ time) created with the assistance of Carlo Giannini, leader in the kitchen article sector, and the graphics agency SDB.

Laura Strambi has infused the new uniforms with her delicate taste and unmistakeable style, creating clothing items with a sharp, elegant and modern design.
