Virgin Blue Airlines to become Virgin Australia on May 4

Virgin Blue Airlines (virginblue.com.au) (Brisbane) is expected to finally unveil its new brand on May 4. According to published reports by Australian Business Traveller and FlightGlobal blogger Will Horton, Virgin Australia has been selected as the new name. A new livery will also be unveiled on May 4 with a new “Flying Lady” logo on the first Airbus A330. Virgin Australia will be used on domestic flights while the V Australia name will be retained for international operations. The Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue brands could also be merged into the V Australia to achieve the rationalization management desires for its various brands.
