Air Uganda remains grounded, issues ticket refunds

Air Uganda (Meridiana Africa Airlines Uganda Limited dba) (Kampala and Entebbe) has issued this statement:

Air Uganda wishes to inform its stakeholders and customers of the continued temporary suspension of its flights to Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Bujumbura, Kigali, Mogadishu, Kilimanjaro, Mombasa and Juba. This follows the withdrawal of International Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) from all airlines registered in Uganda, by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

Passengers holding valid Air Uganda tickets should contact their Travel Agent or the Air Uganda Travel Center to get a refund.

Air Uganda to launch Entebbe-Mombasa flights on December 11

Air Uganda (Kampala) will launch a new route connecting Entebbe International Airport (EBB) with Mombasa, Kenya starting on December 11. The route will be served three times a week with Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets.

EBB is located near the town of Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria, about 22 miles (35 km) from the capital, Kampala.

Air Uganda is 100 percent owned by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), which also has interests in the national airlines of Mali and Burkina Faso through its holding company Celestair.
