Air Antwerp wants to restore its sole route on May 4

Air Antwerp made this announcement:

Further to the decisions of the National Security Council of March 27 and the announcement earlier this week by London City Airport that the airport expects to remain closed until the end of April, Air Antwerp will resume operations on the route on Monday, May 4, 2020. The airline had already suspended its operations temporarily as of March 22. 

Passengers who hold an Air Antwerp booking (WP code) on a flight between now and May 3rd‚ can change or cancel their reservation free of charge by contacting Air Antwerp Customer Services (contact details see below). If the booking was made via our codeshare partner (KL code)‚ the passengers must contact KLM. Please note that booking change requests via social media cannot be handled.

Air Antwerp suspends its flights from March 22 until April 10, 2020

Air Antwerp has made this announcement:

The COVID-19 pandemic is confronting Air Antwerp with circumstances the airline industry has never witnessed before. Nevertheless, the airline is trying to assist its passengers as much as possible. Until Friday 20th March included, Air Antwerp will operate its flights according to its regular schedule, allowing passengers to return home.

However, following the travel advice issued by the Belgian federal government and the extraordinary measures decided by the Belgian National Security Council on March 17, Air Antwerp is compelled to suspend all its flights from March 22 until April 10, 2020 included.

Passengers holding an Air Antwerp booking (WP code) on a flight between March 22 and April 10‚ can change or cancel their reservation free of charge by contacting Air Antwerp Customer Services (contact details see below). If the booking was made via any other channel than the Air Antwerp website‚ the customer must contact the party with which the flight was booked. Please note that booking change requests cannot be made via social media.

Air Antwerp expects to resume its flights on Sunday April 12, 2020.

Air Antwerp launches operations

Air Airborne today (September 9) launched operations. The first route was between Antwerp and London (City).

The airline issued this short statement on social media:

Air Antwerp is airborne. Our first commercial flights between Antwerp Airport and London City Airport have been completed this morning. Air Antwerp is proud and grateful to all who helped to make this possible.

Air Antwerp secures its AOC, will launch flights to London City Airport on September 9

Air Antwerp has secured its Air Operators Certificate (AOC). The new airline has announced it will fly from Antwerp to London’s City Airport starting on September 9.

The route will be flown in a code share arrangement with KLM.

Air Antwerp will use Fokker 50s.

Air Antwerp adds its first aircraft

Air Antwerp is a new start-up airline based in Antwerp, Belgium. The new airline has added its first aircraft, the pictured Fokker F.27 Mk. 050 (Fokker 50) OO-VLS in a striking new livery.

The new airline made this short statement and issued these photos:

Our F50 aircraft, sporting the brand new Air Antwerp livery, made its way to Antwerp International Airport on July 27, 2019 for a few days of training, before heading back for final touches. With great pride we showcase some snapshots of its new attire.

The new airline is a subsidiary of KLM and CityJet. It plans to launch operations in the fall.

Air Antwerp is born to fill the hole left by VLM Airlines

Air Antwerp (Antwerp) has been formed with the help of CityJet and KLM. CityJet will control 75% of the stock.

The new airline is going through the AOC process and hopes to serves at least three destinations from Antwerp Airport, including London (City) according to Travel Magazine of Belgium.

The new airline will start operations with one Fokker 50, hopefully later this year.
