Alas Uruguay (Alas-U) (Wings of Uruguay) (Montevideo), the hopeful worker-led replacement for defunct and grounded Pluna (Montevideo), has been unable to acquire the intended three Bombardier CRJ900s of Pluna. The carrier now expects to lease three Boeing 737-300s in order to start operations according to El Pais.

The paper airline hopes to employ 250 former Pluna employees.
