Alas Uruguay (Alas-U) (Wings of Uruguay) (Montevideo), the hopeful worker-led replacement for defunct and grounded Pluna (Montevideo), has been unable to acquire the intended three Bombardier CRJ900s of Pluna. The carrier now expects to lease three Boeing 737-300s in order to start operations according to El Pais.

The paper airline hopes to employ 250 former Pluna employees.

The new flag carrier would like to operate from Montevideo to Asuncion, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago and Sao Paulo.
