Yakutia Airlines orders three additional Sukhoi Superjet 100s

Yakutia Airlines (Yakutsk) as signed a contract for the purchase of three additional Sukhoi Superjet 100s. Sukhoi issued this statement:

On June 15, 2015 at the International Paris Air Show 2015 Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and Yakutia Airlines signed a contract for the delivery of three additional Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft starting from 2017.

The contract envisages delivery of the SSJ100 Long Range version with 93 seats: 8 seats for business class and 85 for economy.

The Execution of this contract follows to the successful cooperation of SCAC and Yakutia, which has been operating two SSJ100s through domestic and international routes since early 2013.

Since the beginning of operations in Yakutia Airlines, the two Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft have reached more than 8.000 flight hours. Now the SSJ100s operated by Yakutia, might be seen in the airports of more than 15 cities worldwide, and this number is continuously increasing. The airline uses this aircraft to perform flights to the Far East, Siberia, Ural, South of Russia and also to China, Japan and South Korea.

Yakutia Airlines becomes the first Bombardier Q400 operator in Russia

Yakutia Airlines (Yakutsk) has become the first operator of the Bombardier DHC-8-402 (Q400) in Russia. The far north carrier put the new type into revenue service in late January. Yakutia Airlines, a domestic passenger carrier based in the northeast region of Russia, will fly three Q400 aircraft, with the first (DHC-8-402 VP-BKD, msn 4162) having arrived in late January at Yakutsk Airport.

Yakutia’s fleet comprises a total of over 30 aircraft and it operates with hubs in the cities of Yakutsk, Moscow (Vnukovo) and Krasnodar. Its network includes routes in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), other regions in Russia and international flights. In the territory of the Far East federal district, Yakutia operates flights in eight of nine sub-districts, allowing passengers to make point-to-point connections within the region.

Yakutia Airlines intends to order 3 Boeing 737-700s and 8 737-800s

Yakutia Airlines (Yakutia Aircompany) (Yakutsk) intends to firm up a new order with Boeing for three new Boeing 737-700s and eight 737-800s for deliveries in the 2016-2018 period per Air Journal. This order will be a replacement order for the existing fleet.

Yakutia Airlines is coming to Anchorage

Yakutia Airlines (Yakutsk) is planning to launch a weekly flight linking Anchorage with Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula. The summer route will start on July 12 and will be operated with Boeing 737-700 aircraft according to this report by Examiner.com.

Yakutia Airlines promotes the Children of Asia games

Yakutia Airlines (Yakutia Aircompany) (Yakutsk) is a sponsor of the upcoming 2012 Children of Asia games in Yakutsk. The special “Yakutsk 2012 Children of Asia” logo of this Boeing 757-200 promotes the 2012 version of the Children of Asia International Sports Games. Held every four years, the 2012 games will be held in Yakutsk, Siberia, the home of Yakutia Airlines. The games website describes the games:

“The 5th Children of Asia International Sports Games are held in compliance with the decision of the President of the Russian Federation with the aim of promoting ideas of the Olympic movement, developing children and youth sports and strengthening international cooperation in sports.

The 1st Children of Asia Games were held in Yakutsk in 1996 and were dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the modern Olympic Games.

The Games will be held under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee from July 4 to July 16, 2012, in cities of Yakutsk, Mirny and Neryungri of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

The general coordination of preparing and holding the Games will be implemented by the Administration of the Children of Asia International Sports Games.

The previous four Games hosted more than 5,000 young sportsmen from more than 20 countries of Asia and 27 regions of Russia. Participants of the held Games later became champions and winners of championships of Europe and the world, as well as in the Olympic Games.

The program of the 5th Games will include 20 kinds of sports. For the first time Swimming and Sambo have been included in the Games, as well Freestyle Wrestling among handicapped sportsmen.

Yakutia is known for its mineral resources, rich nature and unique original culture. Its territory is equal to that of 5 Frances or 13 Great Britains.
