Wizz Air Abu Dhabi expands its fleet to 11 aircraft

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the ultra-low-fare national airline of the UAE and the second largest airline in Abu Dhabi by seat capacity, has announced the addition of its newest aircraft to serve its ever-expanding network. The national airline is ramping up operations to meet high demand, unlocking more affordable travel opportunities for tourists and residents throughout multiple continents. 

The additional aircraft will enable Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to enhance frequencies and drive ambitious growth into new territories with must-see travel destinations for adventure lovers. The airline serves a plethora of both business and leisure travel destinations, including vibrant cities and natural paradises across Central Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to fly to Samarkand

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has launched a new route from Abu Dhabi to the ancient city of Samarkand, one of the most important sites on the Silk Road. This exciting new destination, being the second largest city in Uzbekistan and situated at the crossroads of world cultures for over two and a half millennia.

The national airline now flies to more than 36 destinations within a five-hour flight time radius of Abu Dhabi, since launching in January 2021. The flight to Samarkand, a crucible of cultures and religions, will commence on December 13, 2022 and will operate on Tuesday and Saturday.

Samarkand, one of the most ancient cities in the world and among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in historical heritage. Located on the ancient trade route linking China to the Mediterranean, Samarkand is an important centre of human civilisation with breath-taking culture. Its list of must-see attractions include beautiful mausoleums and the incredible madrassas with Registan, the centrepiece of the city, arguably the most impressive site in Central Asia.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi expands to Kuwait and the Maldives

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has announced it will launch two new routes from Abu Dhabi to the idyllic island paradise of the Maldives, and the airline’s fifth key destination in the Gulf, Kuwait.

From October, Wizz Air will offer flights four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from Abu Dhabi to Male, the main international airport in the Maldives.

Flights to Kuwait, located in the North-Western corner of the Persian Gulf, will operate daily from Abu Dhabi.

The new routes will see Wizz Air Abu Dhabi fly to a total of 34 destinations within a five-hour flight time radius of Abu Dhabi, since the airline launched in January 2021.  The arrival of a fifth aircraft later this year means flights to Kuwait and the Maldives will be operated on a brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi launches a new route to Mattala, Sri Lanka

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi continues to expand with two new routes to Jordan

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the ultra-low-fare national airline of the UAE, will add two new Jordanian destinations to its ever-growing list of routes. Flying to the extraordinary cities of Amman and Aqaba, the new routes will strengthen travel links within the region by bringing in a bold new frontier for ultra-low fare travel.

The flight to Amman will operate two times a week on Tuesday and Saturday. Flights to Aqaba will operate two times a week on Sunday and Thursday.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to launch three new routes

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has announced it will add new routes to Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), Yerevan (Armenia), and Krasnodar (Russia) in February 2022.

The new airline celebrated it first anniversary on January 15, 2022.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is a joint venture by ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies with a broad portfolio of major enterprises spanning key sectors of Abu Dhabi’s diversified economy, and Wizz Air Holdings Plc.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to fly to Moscow

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s ultra-low-fare national airline, has announced a new route connecting Moscow with Abu Dhabi.

The UAE has long been a popular travel destination for those in Russia, and vice versa. The flight to Moscow will operate daily services, four times a week on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday (in December 2021 and January2022), ramping up to seven days a week in February.

The Moscow route brings Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to a total of 33 announced flight destinations, since it launched operations in January 2021.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi commences flights to Kiev, Bari, Salalah and Muscat

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will commence flights to its latest destinations, Kiev, Bari, Salalah and Muscat.

The flight to Ukraine’s capital city, Kiev will be operated three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; flights to Bari, Italy will be operated two times per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays; routes to Salalah, Oman will be operated two times per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays; and flights to the capital of Oman, Muscat will be operated three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Since launching in January 2021, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi now operates to 22 destinations with further destinations to be revealed in the coming months.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to launch its first flight to Tel Aviv

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced that it will start the operation of the Tel Aviv – Abu Dhabi route on April 18, 2021, following the announcement that Israel has been added to the green list, meaning travelers will no longer need to quarantine upon arrival in Abu Dhabi.

The connection between Tel Aviv and the capital of United Arab Emirates will open new opportunities for Israeli travelers and will strengthen connections between the two Middle Eastern countries. The new route will carry 3 weekly flights in April 2021. Starting from May 2021, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will operate flights between the two destinations on a daily basis.

The entry to Abu Dhabi will be available to passengers from Green Countries who hold visas to any of the Emirates. Israel is currently holding the “Green Country” status.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi launches new routes to Almaty and Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the UAE has announced the launch of its latest routes from Abu Dhabi to Almaty and Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan, starting in the middle of May 2021. With the launch of Almaty and Nur-Sultan, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi adds a further two routes to the already on sale thirteen routes.

The flight to Almaty will be operated 2 times per week on Mondays and Fridays, while Nur Sultan will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays, also 2 times per week.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has the youngest fleet composed of four brand new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft, offering the lowest fuel burn, emissions and noise footprint.
