Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to launch its first flight to Tel Aviv

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced that it will start the operation of the Tel Aviv – Abu Dhabi route on April 18, 2021, following the announcement that Israel has been added to the green list, meaning travelers will no longer need to quarantine upon arrival in Abu Dhabi.

The connection between Tel Aviv and the capital of United Arab Emirates will open new opportunities for Israeli travelers and will strengthen connections between the two Middle Eastern countries. The new route will carry 3 weekly flights in April 2021. Starting from May 2021, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will operate flights between the two destinations on a daily basis.

The entry to Abu Dhabi will be available to passengers from Green Countries who hold visas to any of the Emirates. Israel is currently holding the “Green Country” status.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi launches new routes to Almaty and Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the UAE has announced the launch of its latest routes from Abu Dhabi to Almaty and Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan, starting in the middle of May 2021. With the launch of Almaty and Nur-Sultan, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi adds a further two routes to the already on sale thirteen routes.

The flight to Almaty will be operated 2 times per week on Mondays and Fridays, while Nur Sultan will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays, also 2 times per week.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has the youngest fleet composed of four brand new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft, offering the lowest fuel burn, emissions and noise footprint.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to start a new route to Alexandria

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will start a new route to Alexandria, Egypt on February 22.

The new airline commenced operations on January 15, 2021. The first revenue flight departed Abu Dhabi for Athens.

The airline is a joint venture of state-owned ADQ (formerly, Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company-ADDH), which owns 51 percent and Wizz Air Holdings controlling the remaining 49 percent.

Abu Dhabi here we come. We have announced the launch of five new routes that will connect the capital of the UAE with Budapest and Bucharest from June 2020 and with Cluj-Napoca, Katowice and Sofia from September 2020 subject to aviation activities resumed in the respective countries.

We are proud to be the first European low-cost airline to launch flights to Abu Dhabi.

Our local airline, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, is expected to begin operations later this year.

Wizz Air announces proposed establishment of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi

Wizz Air Holdings Plc has announced today that it has reached agreement in principle for the establishment of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in partnership with Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company PJSC. The new airline will be Wizz Air’s first airline established outside of Europe.  

It is intended that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will be formed via a joint venture, and operations are expected to launch in the second half of 2020. The airline will focus on establishing routes to markets in which Wizz Air has existing, high growth operations, namely Central and Eastern and Western Europe, as well as the Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa over the long run. Wizz Air believes that the establishment of a truly ultra-low cost airline in Abu Dhabi can contribute to the continued growth of Abu Dhabi as a world-class cultural and tourist destination. ADDH’s deep rooted knowledge of the local market, support and navigation in a new market for WIZZ is invaluable and will boost the successful development of the new airline.

The establishment and start of the new airline is subject to, amongst other things, agreement and entry into force of definitive documentation with ADDH, the receipt of all necessary internal and external approvals and consents, and the new airline satisfying all regulatory requirements of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority to obtain an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).

With a fleet composed of Airbus A321neo aircraft, the world’s most efficient narrow body aircraft, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will gain access to markets with a total of 5 billion customers across Europeand beyond. The new airline’s customer proposition will align directly to that of Wizz Air with a singular focus on offering a superior value based quality air travel built on the foundations of one of the world’s greenest aircraft fleets*.
