Mauritania Airlines to start flying soon, replacing Mauritania Airways

Mauritania Airlines International (Nouakchott) is the new national carrier of Mauritania. The new is due to start domestic and regional operations before the end of the year according to President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz. The airline will start operations with two Boeing 737-55S aircraft (5T-CLA, msn 28469 and 5T-CLB, msn 28470). The new flag carrier is replacing Mauritania Airways.

Mauritania Airways Boeing 737-700 runs off the end of runway at Conakry

Mauritania Airways (Nouakchott) Boeing 737-700 ran off the runway yesterday (July 28) at Conakry while operating a flight from Nouakchott to Conakry via Dakar. The airliner ended up in the grass on a slight downward slope. The aircraft is intact. 10 people received slight injuries. The airliner reportedly land long at night. Tunisair owns 51% of the company and leased the aircraft to Mauritania Airways.

Mauritania leases 737-7L9 TS-IEA from Tunisair

Mauritania Airways (Nouakchott) has wet leased Boeing 737-7L9 TS-IEA (msn 28014) from Tunisair (Tunis). The new type was delivered to Tunisair on May 15, 2009.
