Reuters: ANA to acquire a 49% share of Asian Wings Airways

ANA Holdings,  Inc. (ANA-All Nippon Airways) (Tokyo) is planning to acquire a 49 percent stake in Asian Wings Airways (Yangon) in Myanmar (formerly Burma) according to a report by Reuters and the Nikkei Business Daily.

According to the report, ANA will acquire the stake for around $30.5 million.

Asian Wings began operations on January 27, 2011 and currently operates three ATR 72-500s and one ex-Alitalia Airbus A321-100 on domestic flights in Myanmar.

Asian Wings to commence operations on January 27

Asian Wings (Yangon) is set to start scheduled passenger operations on Thursday (January 27) with two 70-seat ATR 72-500s. The new privately-owned airline will initially operate domestic routes to 11 destinations in Myanmar (formerly Burma).
