Enter Air buys into the Swiss market, acquires 49% of Germania Flug

Enter Air (Warsaw) has signed an agreement with Albex Aviation to acquire a 49% share of Germania Flug (Zurich) of Switzerland.

“The Swiss company has it all, it gives us access to the the of the Swiss tourism market, and in the future, to other markets, in which we are not yet fully present.” – says Grzegorz Polaniecki, CEO of Enter Air.

Germania Flug was not affected by the bankruptcy of its German shareholder Germania in February 2019.

All shares formerly held by Germania of Germany were sold to Albex Aviation.

Enter Air starts operating from Warsaw’s Modlin Airport, joining Ryanair

Enter Air on April 25 operated its first charter flight from Modlin Airport in Warsaw, joining Ryanair at the airport. Enter Air was operating the charter flight to Enfidha, Tunisia for TUI Polska according to Aviation24.be.

Enter Air normally operates from Choplin Airport in Warsaw. Until now, Ryanair was the main operator at Modlin Airport.

Enter Air is also celebrating its 9th Anniversary.

Enter Air takes delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 in a revised livery

Enter Air (Warsaw) yesterday took delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 (SP-EXA).

The new type for the carrier departed last night from Boeing Field in Seattle bound for Warsaw via a stop in Keflavik, Iceland.

The airline also took the opportunity to modify its livery (top photo) with the new type versus what was planned (above).

The carrier mentioned the delivery on social media (translated from Polish):

The arrival of our Boeing 737 MAX 8 is planned for Tuesday, December 4 in the afternoon! It will land in Warsaw. On this occasion we have announced a photo contest for the best photo of its landing.

Enter Air has six permanent operational bases in Europe:

Frederic Chopin Airport in Warsaw,

Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport,

Poznań-Ławica Airport,

Wrocław Airport,

Paris-Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport

and Manchester Airport.

Enter Air planes connect also other Polish cities, such as: Cracow, Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz and Łódź.

Enter Air honors Merian Caldwell Cooper

Honoring Merian Caldwell Cooper

Enter Air, as part of Poland’s “100 Years of Independence” celebrations, has painted the pictured Boeing 737-8Q8 SP-ENX (msn 30627) in a “1918 – 2018” special livery featuring Merian Caldwell Cooper on the left side.

According to Wikipedia:

Merian Caldwell Cooper (October 24, 1893 – April 21, 1973) was an American aviator, United States Air Force and Polish Air Force officer, adventurer, screenwriter, film director, and producer. Cooper was the founder of the Kościuszko Squadron during the Polish–Soviet War and was a Soviet prisoner of war for a time. He was a notable movie producer, and got his start with film as part of the Explorers Club, traveling the world and documenting adventures. He was a member of the board of directors of Pan American Airways, but his love of film always took priority. During his film career, he worked for companies such as Pioneer Pictures, RKO Pictures, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He is also credited as co-inventor of the Cinerama film projection process. Cooper’s most famous film was the 1933 movie King Kong. He was awarded an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement in 1952 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.

Enter Air orders two Boeing 737 MAX 8s and two 737-800s

Boeing (Chicago, Seattle and Charleston) and Enter Air (Warsaw) have announced an order for two 737 MAX 8s and two Next-Generation 737-800s. The order, worth more than $400 million at current list prices and previously attributed to an unidentified customer, is the first direct order for Boeing from the Polish charter carrier.

Enter Air continues to grow following its first commercial flight in 2010. Today, the Warsaw based carrier serves more than 70 holiday destinations across the Mediterranean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia with an all-Boeing fleet of 17 Classic and Next-Generation 737s.
