Pacific Blue Airlines changes its titles to comply with an Indonesian directive

Pacific Blue Airlines (Christchurch) has changed its titles on its Boeing 737s in order to comply with an Indonesian directive.

Pacific Blue is the New Zealand based subsidiary of Australian airline Virgin Blue. Pacific Blue currently operates low-fare air services between New Zealand and Australia, and Australia to South Asia. It also operates services on behalf of Polynesian Blue.

Virgin Blue Holdings alliance with Etihad Airways is approved

Virgin Blue Holdings’ (Brisbane) five-year alliance between Virgin Blue Holdings (the owner of Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue and V Australia) and Etihad Airways has been approved by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

Etihad Airways is based in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, which is also the airline’s hub. Etihad’s fleet of 54 aircraft operates close to 1000 flights per week, serving an international network of 64 destinations in 42 countries.

Pacific Blue Airlines to leave the New Zealand domestic market by October 17

Pacific Blue Airlines (flypacificblue.com) (subsidiary of Virgin Blue Airlines) (Christchurch) will drop all domestic routes in New Zealand by October 17 due to the continued losses. The subsidiary will concentrate on its trans-Tasman routes.

Pacific Blue Airlines (Christchurch) will begin flying the Auckland-Queenstown route on weekends starting in September.
