Flybe (Exeter) has been very successful in serving under utilized smaller airports in the UK and also staying well clear of the fray between the big carriers and the low cost carriers fighting over bigger markets.

Flybe to operate four Q400s for Olympic Air

Flybe (Exeter) will wet lease and operate four of its Bombardier DHC-8-400s (Q400s) for the newly-reorganized Olympic Air (Athens). The turboprops will be operated from August 2009 through September 2010.

Flybe to make Gatwick Airport its 14th base

Flybe (Exeter) will make Gatwick Airport near London its 14th base with its new route from LGW to Dusseldorf starting on June 22. The new route will be operated three times a week. The airline will be operating nearly 50 flights a week from LGW for the summer of 2009.
