Sol Lineas Aereas SAAB 340A crashes in Argentina

Sol Líneas Aéreas (Rosario) flight 8R 5428 operating from Córdobato Comodoro Rivadavia to Mendoza and Neuquén crashed on May 18. The flight was operated with SAAB  340A with the registration of LV-CEJ (msn 025). The flight crashed in bad weather in a remote area in Prahuaniyeu, 16 miles southwest of the town of Los Menucos, Río Negro, Argentina. All 19 passengers and three crew members died in the crash.

The flight crew declared an emergency at 8:50 PM (GMT-3) local time. The turboprop crashed and burned in rough terrain.

The airline commenced domestic operations on August 15, 2006 with SAAB 340As.
