JAL to cut capacity by 10 percent

JAL-Japan Airlines (Tokyo) plans to reduce capacity on international routes by 10 percent for its fiscal year 2010 according to its CEO. The company is retiring 23 aircraft in fiscal year 2009 including five Boeing 747-300s (JA812J, JA813J, JA8166, JA8166, JA8177 and JA8183), all remaining 747-400s except one (JA8072?), four Boeing 767-300s (JA8234, JA8235, JA8236 and one other), two Boeing 737-400s, eight McDonnell Douglas DC-9-81s, two BN-2B Islanders (JA5324 and JA5325) and one Boeing 747-200F (JA8171 remains parked at Narita).
