Argentina (Buenos Aires) is investing in new aircraft for both Aerolineas Argentinas (Buenos Aires) and Austral Lineas Aereas (Buenos Aires). Besides the previously announced Boeing 737-700s for Aerolineas Argentinas, AR will also receive three additional Airbus A340-300s and seven new A330-200s. Austral will receive 20 Embraer ERJ 190s to replace the existing McDonnell Douglas DC-9-81/82/83s. Both carriers were nationalized in December 2008.
