American, British, QANTAS to make joint offer

American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth), British Airways (London) and QANTAS Airways (Sydney) are now expected to make a joint offer for JAL-Japan Airlines (Tokyo-Haneda) in order to keep the Japanese airline in the Oneworld Alliance. Meanwhile the Japanese government has already stated it will look at any foreign investment in JAL very closely and still believes in a “two flag carrier” strategy for the country.
