Air China to acquire a controlling stake in Shenzhen Airlines

Air China (Beinjing) will invest $99.9 million in privately-owned Shenzhen Airlines (Shenzhen), increasing its stake in the airline from 25 percent to 51 percent so it can better compete with China Southern Airlines (Guangzhou) in southern China. The transaction is expected to be completed by April 19 according to this published AsiaOne News report.
