Frontier Airlines ends its partnership with AirTran Airways

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) announced today it will end its frequent-flyer partnership with AirTran Airways (Orlando and Atlanta), effective July 16, 2010. The partnership, which was established in November 2006, allowing frequent flyer members of both airlines to earn and use their miles on both carriers.

The two carriers were closely working together before the purchase by Republic Airways Holdings. With the integration of the Midwest Airlines brand into Frontier, the two carriers are now in a fierce battle for the Milwaukee market and this relationship was thus doomed.
