LAMIA ceases operations

LAMIA-Linea Aerea Meridena Internacional de Aviacion (Merida) ceased all operations in October after apparently failing to obtain its own AOC. The new carrier in Venezuela commenced operations on August 16, 2010 with an ATR 72-212A (ATR 72-500) registered EC-KKQ (msn 763) “El Merideno” (The Merida) that was wet leased from Swiftair (Madrid). EC-KKQ has now returned to Spain.
