Qatar Airways (Doha) in celebration of its 10th anniversary of service to Thailand, announced its expansion of operations in the Far East. The launch of daily year-round flights to the holiday island of Phuket and increased frequency on the Bangkok route has doubled the number of flights from 14 to 28 a week between the airline’s Doha hub and Thailand.
As part of the airline’s aggressive expansion plan to serve a global network of 120 key business and leisure destinations by 2013, Qatar Airways also recently announced a new route in Germany to Stuttgart. Additionally, the airline has increased operations of flight services to Barcelona, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Munich.
The launch of flights to Phuket and Hanoi increases Qatar Airways’ Asia Pacific route network to 18 destinations while its service additions to Stuttgart, Barcelona and Madrid will mark 182 flights a week to cities across Europe by March 2011.
