Frontier Airlines starts Milwaukee-St. Petersburg/Clearwater flights

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) yesterday launched nonstop service between its Milwaukee (MKE) hub and St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport (PIE). The new service replaces service that previously operated between Milwaukee and Tampa International Airport (TPA). The six weekly roundtrip flights kicked off with flight F9 466 departing from Milwaukee at 7:38 a.m. (0738) CST, while the first flight from St. Petersburg/Clearwater departs at 12:03 p.m. (1203) EST. The MKE-PIE route will be operated with Airbus A319s.

In addition, Frontier will launch twice-weekly nonstop service between Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA) and St. Petersburg/Clearwater on January 16, 2011 – providing customers flying out of St. Petersburg/Clearwater nonstop service to two Frontier destinations and convenient connections to destinations across the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica. The OMA-PIE route will be operated with Republic Airlines’ (2nd) Embraer ERJ 190s.
