Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma) yesterday (December 4) inaugurated thrice-weekly service between San Jose, CA, and Los Cabos, Mexico. The flight, which originates in Portland, OR, is in addition to the carrier’s existing Los Cabos service from Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, and seasonal service from Seattle/Tacoma.
Alaska Airlines introduced service to Mexico in 1988 and flies an average of 1 million passengers annually between the U.S. West Coast and Mexico. Alaska and sister carrier Horizon Air together serve seven Mexico beach destinations — Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, La Paz, Loreto, Los Cabos, Manzanillo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta — in addition to Guadalajara and Mexico City.
The new flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin.
