American Airlines to reduce capacity and reduce MD-80 flying

American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) will reduce capacity growth this year due to rising fuel costs according to this report by Reuters. The company will also reduced the amount of McDonnell Douglas DC-9-82 and DC-9-83 flying.

However AA did increase the number of new Boeing 777-300 ERs on order from two to three.
