AirTran’s stockholders approve the acquisition by Southwest

AirTran Holdings, Inc. (Orlando), the parent company of AirTran Airways, announced that its stockholders voted overwhelmingly today (March 23) to approve the merger of a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines Company (Dallas) with and into AirTran at a special meeting held in Orlando.

If finally approved, Southwest will gain a large hub at Atlanta (the current ATL routes are displayed in red):

      Thanks Brian for the update. I wonder how many AirTran special color schemes Southwest will keep? They may all be endangered although WN has their own and may keep them.
