FlyMe (Male) is a new airline in the Maldives that was established on March 14, 2011. The upstart is acquiring two ATR 42-500s that will be operated by Villa Air on domestic routes in the islands. The new company is expected to start operations in June 2011.

The Maldives is an island nation in the Indian Ocean formed by a double chain of twenty-six atolls stretching in a north-south direction off India’s Lakshadweep islands, between Minicoy Island and Chagos Archipelago.
