Allegiant Travel Company 1Q net profit slips to $17.2 million

Allegiant Air McDonnell Douglas DC-9-83 (MD-83) N868GA (msn 49554) LGB (Stephen Tornblom), originally uploaded by Airliners Gallery.

Allegiant Travel Company (Las Vegas), the parent of Allegiant Air, reported a first quarter net profit of $17.2 million, down 24.1% from $22.6 million in the same period a year ago.

Allegiant is operating 51 DC-9-82/83/87 aircraft. Its two Boeing 757-200s have been leased out.
