American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) is reportedly in negotiations with Airbus concerning a possible A320 order for as many as 100 copies according to this report by Reuters.

Meanwhile Boeing has stated it will wait until the end of the year to announce whether it will re-engine the 737NG (like Airbus) or proceed with a totally new “797” narrow body replacement.
