JetBlue to operate twice-daily Burbank-Long Beach flights to reduce “Carmageddon”

JetBlue Airways (New York) is planning to operate short-range, twice-daily service between Burbank and Long Beach in the Los Angeles metro area to help offset the affects of “Carmageddon” starting this weekend.

Starting this weekend, 10 miles of the 405 Freeway will be shut down for expansion, forcing the nearly 330,000 daily vehicles to find alternate routes, or just stay home.

The flights should be around 20 minutes, block to block.

The flights will be offered at $4 one-way.
