Georgian Airways is able to keep flying to Russia

Airzena Georgian Airways Boeing 737-59D 4L-TGR (msn 24694) FRA (Bernard Ross), originally uploaded by Airliners Gallery.

Georgian Airways (Airzena) (Tbilisi) has won a three-month extension to operate charter flights between Tbilisi and Moscow until late 2011. Air service between the two countries resumed earlier this year.

The resumption follows the 2008 South Ossetia War or Russo-Georgian War. This short war was an armed conflict in August 2008 between Georgia and Russia and separatist governments of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
