Air New Zealand orders seven new ATR 72-600s

Air New Zealand (Auckland) and ATR (Toulouse) have announced a firm order of seven new ATR 72-600s, plus options for five additional aircraft. The first of the 68 seat ATR72-600 aircraft will be delivered to Air New Zealand in October 2012. Deliveries will be completed in 2016. The aircraft will be operated by subsidiary Mount Cook Airline (Christchurch).

Mount Cook currently operates 11 ATR 72-500 aircraft.

    I hear one is for the Auckland to New Plymouth run,a long time overdue,good to see some new aircraft such as the ATR 72-600 on the New Plymouth short hall.
