Turkish Cargo launches a new route to Mitiga, Libya, will open talks to possibly acquire LOT Polish

Turkish Cargo A310-300F TC-JCZ (90)(Grd) ZRH (RW)(LRW), originally uploaded by Airliners Gallery.

Turkish Airlines Cargo (Istanbul) on January 8, 2012 launched scheduled freighter flights to Mitiga, Libya (near Tripoli). The twice-weekly flights will be operated with either A310-300 or A330-200 freighters.

In other news, Turkish Airlines will start talks to possibly acquire LOT Polish Airlines according to the Hurriyet newspaper which cited Turkish Airlines Chairman Hamdi Topcu.
