B&H Airlines (Sarajevo) is facing an uncertain summer season. Minority owner (49 percent) seized its Airbus A319 (TC-JLR) which was operating B&H’s major routes on February 27. It is now in storage in Istanbul. Flights to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Göteborg, Stockholm, Vienna, Düsseldorf and Skopje have been cancelled. The two remaining ATR 72-202s are trying to maintain a limited schedule.
Turkish Airlines and the Bosnian government, which owns the remaining 51 percent, met on March 5 to try to resolve their differences. The government, which selected Turkish Airlines to be the flag carrier’s partner, is unhappy with how the airline is being operated by Turkish and the continuous financial losses.
Is this a marriage that can survive?
