I would urge the decision makers at JeBlue to reconsider dropping the LB to O’Hare route. Many current customers will not fly out of other airports due to traffic congestion and other factors.

I’m heartsick about the LGB to O’Hare cancellation! My son lives there, I live here, and it was the nicest way to see each other…so easy. I’m sooooo sad about this.

I am extremely disappointed to learn that the Long Beach-Chicago route has been cancelled. I live in Chicago and my family lives in Long Beach it was the most comfortable and convenient option for me.

This is very upsetting! We have flow LGB/ORD for many years on Jetblue and this is a very sad day for us. We just found out today as we went to Jetblue to try to book a trip to Chicago and found it this route had been cancelled! WHY??????? We are have been TrueBlue members for years! Not only have we flown JetBlue but we have recommended JetBlue to family and friends….This is a very bad move! Very Upsetting to hear this!

I have flown jet blue long beach to Chicago several times a year for many years. Am truly disappointed about their decision to cancel this flight!

I’ve flown this route several times in the past few years and it’s always full. Makes more sense to cut back just a little, on the particular flights that are under performing, not drop the whole route. Besides, it’s the kind of route that, due to traffic and congestion, should grow in popularity.

Thank you Dennis. I am not sure why JetBlue made the decision to drop this popular route. It is usually due to low yields and they probably felt they could get a better return on the equipment and crews on another higher yield route. If you notice, most of the expansion is to vacation destinations where the yields are usually higher. Just a guess on my part.

This flight was always full so I can’t understand the comment that the route was underperforming. Please reinstate this route. I live in Long Beach and my husband works in the Chicago area. The Jet Blue LGB to ORD route was our life line. Dropping this route has caused serious problems.

Thank you Susan. Full doesn’t mean it is always profitable. It is all about the financial yield to an airline. I do not why JetBlue is dropping the route but they probably came to the conclusion they could get higher yields with the aircraft on another route. Chicago O’Hare is also a slot-controlled airport so that slot may be valuable to them for other reasons.

This is very frustrating to me. Is there are plan for a Los Angeles to Chicago route?

I have always recommended JetBlue to everyone. I have always used them from Chicago to Long Beach and I was said to just find out that it was canceled. When ever when I booked a flight it was always full, even when trying to book a date. So I don’t see why it was cancelled. Even you gave us the option to fly into LAX would be nice. Now people have to use these other crappy airlines from Chicago to fly into California.

I was very unhappy this year when my sister had to fly on American Airlines because she could not fly from Chicago to Long Beach. I even tried to see if she could fly from indiana to Long Beach on Jet Blue and of Course no way. I guess next year she will have to fly another airline and change planes as she does not want to fly on American again as they were unfriendly, rude and no caring that she needed a wheel chair and help with her flight. Maybe Southwest as many people tell me they are great with service. I have heard from many people who are unhappy about not being able to use Long Beach Airport to and from Chicago or any city back east. Jet Blue was her pick for years and now we are looking for another airline and wouldn’t fly Jetblue anymore and it is sad because JetBlue was such a great airlines.

Thank you Linda. Remember the new American Airlines, if the merger with US Airways is approved, will be under new management. The US Airways team will be running the new AA so things could be different with that carrier.

Airlines make business decisions on where they think they can make the most revenue for their aircraft and crews. Apparently Long Beach-Chicago O’Hare was not in their future plans. I am sure you have a lot more options from LAX including service to Chicago Midway on Southwest.

Good luck with your travel plans.

I traveled LB to ORD several times a year. I am disappointed also, as I just tried to
    make my reservations.
