PenAir starts its New England operation today

PenAir (Peninsula Airways) (Anchorage) is branching out of its Alaska base to start a new regional operation based in New England. Today (May 24) the company will launch scheduled passenger flights between Boston (Logan) and Bar Harbor, Maine. On June 15, PenAir will further expand in New England by launching two additional routes from Boston to both Presque Isle, Maine and Plattsburgh, New York.

For the East Coast operation, PenAir is establishing a new base at Plattsburgh to maintain the SAAB 340Bs.

The new routes are being flown under the Essential Air Service (EAS) program.
