Air Onix’s AOC is suspended, government will make a final determination this month

Air Onix Airlines (Simferopol, Crimea, Ukraine) has lost their ability to operate. The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the State Aviation Service suspended the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) on December 27, 2013 due to financial concerns. The government will continue to audit the grounded airline and make a final determination. The airline must provide a detailed plan to resolve the concerns of the government according to ATO.ru.

Meanwhile the airline plans to add newer Boeing 737-800s and resume operations for the summer season once its AOC is restored.

The airline issued this statement:

Due to the unstable political situation in the country since December 15, 2013, Air Onix has decided to suspend flights on the Kiev-Donetsk route.

The airline commenced operations on April 28, 2012.
