FlyBosnia wants to have 4 Airbus A319s in 2020 as it inaugurates Rome service

“Rome Fiumicino will progressively have daily flights, this already in the course of 2020”, Tarik Bilalbegovic (above) told us – FlyBosnia CEO, and continues “With the arrival next year of two more Airbus A319-100s (which will be added to the two currently in fleet) we will be able to increase weekly flights and open new routes. The Bosnian airline with financing from a private investor in the Balkan country and from the Arab financial group Al Shiddi, also wants to aim at opening a direct flight between Sarajevo and Milan Malpensa.

In this regard Bilalbegovic told us “in the future we have the will to serve Milan, probably in the course of 2020. But this has not yet been decided”.

 

FlyBosnia, after opening Riyadh, London Luton and Rome, the company wants to add services to Paris and Barcelona to its network.

This is why Bilalbegovic has indicated “the next cities will be Paris and Barcelona, ​​then to increase London Luton up to the daily frequency and Riyadh to a daily rate to meet the demand that comes to fly between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia”.

As well as flights from Sarajevo and Kuwait City, Gammin, Manama and Jeddah will resume in 2020. All are seasonal services which commenced in 2019 during the summer between May and September.

 

In Italy, in addition to Rome, FlyBosnia already operates charter flights on fixed dates to Naples and Bari on behalf of Greencenter, an operator specializing in religious tourism. In this case towards Mostar. There will also be flights from Catania and Palermo.

40,000 passengers have already flown on the airline. 2019 is expected to close out with 60,000 passengers and 2020 with at least 150,000. The break-even factor to maintain financial sustainability is expected between September and October 2020.
