American to restore the Charlotte – Honolulu route, adds FLL flights

American Airlines, due to cancelled foreign routes, is adding some domestic routes. AA will restore seasonal nonstop service between the Charlotte hub and Honolulu on May 6, 2021 with initially six flights a week. The restored route will be operated with Boeing 777-200 ERs.

The route is planned through September 7, 2021.

With JetBlue adding new routes from its Miami hub, AA is returning the favor by adding more flights from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL), a focus city for JetBlue.

American and JetBlue are partners.

AA will resume flights to Boston, Los Angeles, and New York from FLL on April 2, 2021.

AA will also add weekly Austin – Orlando service on March 6, 2021.

American will also add daily Dallas/Fort Worth – Long Beach service on April 2, 2021.

Fairbanks (FAI) will also receive new service next summer. Dallas/Fort Worth – FAI will launch on May 6, 2021 followed by Chicago (O’Hare) – FAI service on June 3, 2021.

Phoenix – Anchorage flights will resume on May 6, 2021.
