Italy selects Certares-led consortium for elusive talks to acquire ITA Airways

The government of Italy has selected a group led by U.S. private equity fund Certares, backed by Air France-KLM and Delta Air Lines Inc., for exclusive talks on buying a majority stake in ITA Airways according to Reuters.

However Delta Air Lines has stated publicly that it has no intention of investing in the new Italian flag carrier.
