From Boeing:
The 777-9 flight-test team landed at Keflavik International Airport in Iceland for the first time last week, marking the 10th country visited by Boeing’s newest widebody jet.
The stop is part of an ongoing flight-test campaign ahead of the airplane’s planned first delivery in 2027.

Why it matters: Boeing teams conduct rigorous testing to demonstrate the 777-9’s safety, reliability and performance. In Iceland, the team’s focus is on crosswind conditions.

By the numbers: The 777-9 flight-test fleet has flown more than 1,800 flights and logged more than 5,100 flight hours. The 777-9 offers 20 percent better fuel efficiency than the airplanes it replaces, and customers worldwide have ordered more than 660 777X airplanes.
