Malaysia Airlines and Mumbai Indians on April 23, 2026 unveiled a one-of-a-kind aircraft livery, bringing together the iconic blue and gold of one of cricket’s most celebrated franchises to the skies with the blues of Malaysia Airlines.

Now featured on Malaysia Airlinesโ€™ A330-300, the specially designed livery transforms the aircraft into a bold visual expression of sport, culture and connection – carrying the spirit of Mumbai beyond the stadium and onto the global stage. The design blends the distinctive identities of both brands, featuring a dynamic pulse radiating from the Mumbai Indians emblem and its iconic Chakra, symbolising motion and momentum. Flowing patterns across the aircraft reflect the teamโ€™s growing global fanbase, reinforcing Malaysia Airlinesโ€™ role as a global carrier connecting people through shared journeys and experiences.

To mark the launch, Malaysia Airlines and Mumbai Indians have released a tribute digital film capturing the vibrant culture of Mumbai, the passion of its fans and the warmth of Malaysian Hospitality.

The dedicated aircraft will begin operating on key routes later this year, connecting fans across India, Asia and beyond. More than a visual statement, the collaboration extends the matchday experience into the journey itself, allowing fans to carry their allegiance wherever they travel.
 

As part of its broader commitment to driving inbound travel and strengthening Malaysiaโ€™s position as a key regional hub, Malaysia Airlines continues to enhance its Bonus Side Trip (BST) programme. The initiative allows eligible international travellers transiting through Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 to explore an additional Malaysian destination at no additional fare (excluding taxes), with access to eight domestic destinations showcasing Malaysiaโ€™s cultural, natural and heritage attractions within a single itinerary.
 

As Malaysiaโ€™s national carrier, the airline also continues to support Visit Malaysia 2026 in collaboration with government and industry partners, further enhancing connectivity and reinforcing Malaysia as a destination of choice for travellers from India, Southeast Asia and beyond.
 

This forms part of Malaysia Airlinesโ€™ broader effort to deepen brand visibility in key markets, including its partnership with Mumbai Indians as the Official Global Airline Partner, announced earlier this year. Air Canada receives its first Airbus A321XLR

Air Canada on April 24, 2026 took delivery in Hamburg of its first Airbus A321XLR, a next-generation single-aisle aircraft designed to fly longer routes efficiently and with greater passenger comfort. The arrival of this aircraft, leased from SMBC Aviation Capital, marks an important milestone in Air Canadaโ€™s fleet renewal and growth strategy, with a total of 30 A321XLR aircraft (15 will be leased, 15 are being acquired directly from Airbus S.A.S.) expected to enter the fleet over the coming years.

The A321XLR furthers Air Canadaโ€™s ability to serve new transcontinental and transatlantic city pairs.

Theย new Glowing Hearted cabin standardย makes its debut on the A321XLR, offering calm, comfort and connectivity to customers. It features personal device power at every seat, fast, free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan Members, next-generation in-flight entertainment screens that are larger and offer Bluetooth connectivity, and thoughtfully curated cabin finishes inspired by the Canadian landscape and aligned to the airlineโ€™s brand and commitment to enduring quality. In a first for Air Canada, the A321XLR also offers Air Canada Signature Class on a single-aisle aircraft, with 14 lie-flat seats.

Following Transport Canada certification and entry into service, Air Canada plans to integrate the A321XLR into its schedule progressively to support growth across its network. The aircraftโ€™s performance and range characteristics are well suited to adjust for seasonal demand patterns and evolving market opportunities.

This delivery is the latest step in Air Canadaโ€™s multi-year fleet modernization program, which is focused on customer experience, operational resilience and fuel efficiency improvements versus older-generation aircraft. It reflects the airlineโ€™s commitment to prudent growth, continuous product investment, and disciplined execution.

In addition to the A321XLR, Air Canada has announced orders for eight A350-1000s for delivery starting in 2030 and 14 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners. It also continues to take deliveries of the Canadian-built Airbus A220, with 23 aircraft remaining on its firm order of 65. Five Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, on lease, have also been delivered in 2026.

Long winters, remote regions, and vast landscapes make travel challenging. But every day, Finnairโ€™s ATR turboprop aircraft, operated by Norra, take off and land across the country, ensuring that no region is left behind. 

Today, these aircraft connect 31 destinations across the network, bringing people closer to Helsinki, and through it, to the world.

A story that started in 1986 

This year marks 40 years of ATR operations within Finnairโ€™s network. 

It all began in 1986, when the first ATR 42 entered service, operating its inaugural flight to Kuopio. Since then, several generations of ATR aircraft have followed one another in Finland, each building on the strengths of the previous one, bringing continuous improvements in performance, comfort and efficiency. Over the years, ATR aircraft have become a familiar and trusted presence across Finlandโ€™s domestic skies. 

Generations of passengers have grown up with these aircraft, relying on them to bridge distances, season after season.

Through changing times and evolving travel needs, one thing has remained constant: the role of regional aviation as a lifeline. 

Behind each flight is a story. And today, a fleet of 12 ATR 72 aircraft, operated for Finnair by Norra, with more joining the fleet soon, continues to carry those stories forward.

For 40 years, ATR turboprop aircraft have supported these connections, not by making headlines, but by making a difference. 

Looking ahead

British Airways launches St.โ€ฏLouis and Guernsey

Two new British Airways routes took to the skies on April 19, 2026, as the first flightsย to St. Louis, Missouriย in the US,ย and Guernseyย in the Channel Islandsย departedย from London.

St. Louis became the 27th US destination to join the British Airways network, as the inaugural flight to the โ€˜Gateway to the Westโ€™ landed. The airline offers more direct flights to the US than any other European airline. In a playful pun, the first flight was operated by an entire crew named Louis, Lewis or Louise. 

British Airways is the only UK airline to offer direct flights to St. Louis, in a launch that coincides with the 100th anniversary of Route 66, which runs through the city, and the country-wide celebrations for 250 years of American Independence. With nearby Kansas City serving as one of the World Cup host cities, St. Louis is also an easy jumping-off point for fans heading to the action this summer.  

British Airways operates four flights a week from London Heathrow Terminal 5, for the summer season. The route is operated by a Boeing 787 fleet, which is currently being fitted with Starlink, the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky. Customers have a choice of three cabins โ€“ World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and Club World (business class).

Guernsey in the Channel Islands also joined the British Airways route map yesterday, becoming the only direct flight connecting the picturesque island to London Heathrow. The route operates daily, throughout the year.  

To mark the occasion, the first flight was operated by a crew withโ€ฏpersonalโ€ฏconnections to the island, includingโ€ฏthe flightโ€™s Captain and four members of theโ€ฏcabin crew team, all who originally hailโ€ฏfrom Guernseyโ€ฏor have close family ties.โ€ฏCustomers travelling on the inauguralโ€ฏserviceโ€ฏwereโ€ฏalsoโ€ฏtreated to a traditional Guernseyโ€ฏGรขcheโ€ฏMรจlรจe on board – an apple dessert with deep roots in the islandโ€™s heritage.โ€ฏโ€ฏ

A tequila brand to expand into the UK airline market, will it work with high fuel prices?

Billionโ€‘dollar brand strategists Rob Fitzpatrick and Marco Robinson have announced the launch of Naked Diablo Airlines, a new lifestyleโ€‘driven carrier set to begin operations in January 2027. Positioned as a global disruptor, the airline is described as a new category of travel built around experience, transparency, and social impact rather than traditional airline economics. The project expands the fastโ€‘growing Naked Diablo brand, originally known for its premium tequila line, into a multiโ€‘industry global ecosystem.

The airlineโ€™s model emphasizes radical transparency, with every ticket showing exactly what percentage of the fare goes to charitable impact and who benefits from it. A portion of each ticket will support initiatives to move people experiencing homelessness into permanent housing. Amazon Leo introduces gigabit-speed antenna for commercial aviation

Amazon has unveiled the Amazon Leo Aviation Antenna, a lowโ€‘profile, electronically steered inflightโ€‘connectivity system designed to deliver up to 1 Gbps download and 400 Mbps upload to every seat on an aircraft. The antenna is built specifically for aviation, with no moving parts, a slim 2.6โ€‘inch profile to reduce drag, and a design that allows airlines to install it in one day. It integrates its own modem, uses aviationโ€‘grade connectors, and is engineered to withstand harsh weather and temperature extremes.

A single antenna is capable of supporting an entire aircraftโ€”widebodies or regional jetsโ€”providing enough bandwidth for streaming, gaming, video calls, and realโ€‘time collaboration. Crew can also use the connection for operational tasks that benefit from nearโ€‘instant data. The system connects to Amazonโ€™s lowโ€‘Earthโ€‘orbit satellite network, handing off seamlessly between satellites as the aircraft moves, and uses laser interโ€‘satellite links to maintain performance over oceans, polar routes, and remote regions.

Amazon Leo is building more than 300 global ground gateways to reduce latency and improve resilience, routing traffic through AWS edge locations for fast access to the internet or cloud services. The company says airlines have responded strongly to the technology, with Delta Air Lines and JetBlue already signing agreements to adopt the system. Amazon plans to share additional details as it moves toward commercial rollout.

American Airlines to launch electronic boarding gates at DFW, ushering in the next evolution of the boarding experience

American Airlines is advancing the future of air travel with the official launch of electronic boarding gates at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) beginning this summer. Following a successful pilot in November 2025, and strong customer feedback, American is now deploying the technology at scale at its largest hub, reinforcing the airlineโ€™s commitment to a more seamless, user-friendly and consistent boarding experience. 

American will be the first major U.S. network carrier to install dormakaba electronic boarding gates at scale at a major U.S. airport hub, starting in the new DFW Terminal C Pier Expansion, setting a new standard for how customers move from gate to aircraft. 

A more seamless, enhanced journey

Electronic boarding gates extend Americanโ€™s broader digital journey by giving customers clearer guidance and a more predictable path from the gate to the aircraft. 

The nearly 20 dormakaba Argus Air XS electronic boarding gates will support customers and team members throughout the boarding process by:

  • Streamlining manual tasks for Americanโ€™s team members during boarding, allowing them more time to provide exceptional customer service and operationally critical tasks
  • Providing clear, American-branded touchscreen instructions so customers know exactly what to expectย 
  • Automatically validating boarding passes before opening, allowing customers to proceed smoothly to the aircraftย 
  • Regulating the pace of boarding to reduce congestion and improve jet bridge flow

โ€œAfter piloting the technology late last year and seeing positive feedback from both customers and team members, weโ€™re excited to further incorporate electronic boarding gates at DFW,โ€ said Americanโ€™s Senior Vice President of DFW Hub Operations Jim Moses. โ€œThis is another step forward in creating a modern, seamless journey for customers, while keeping our people at the center of the experience.โ€

Delta to debut its next generation Delta Oneยฎ suite on the new Airbus A350-1000s

Delta will debut its next generation Delta Oneยฎ suite for A350-1000s and expands its suite offering to the A330-200/300 fleet, extending its lead with the most business class suites of any U.S. airline  

  • Delta is introducing its next generation Delta One suite on new Airbusย A350-1000ย aircraft following a two-year intentional design process and a decade of data from customers and employees alike.
  • The airline will also add Delta One suites to its Airbus A330-200/300 fleet for the first time as part of a nose-to-tail refresh and introduce an always-open self-serve snack station for Delta One customers.
  • Every seat in every cabin on both fleets โ€” the A350-1000 and refreshed A330-200/300 โ€” will feature Deltaโ€™s largest seatback screens ever with cinema-quality, high-definition picture clarity, Bluetooth connectivity, USB-C and universal AC power outlets, and memory foam cushions.
  • Deltaโ€™sย modern onboard design,ย first introduced in early 2025, continues to roll out across new aircraft and the existing fleet; the airline expects 800+ aircraft will have the new interiors in the next five years.

Ten years of customer insights and two years of intentional design has resulted in Deltaโ€™s next generation Delta One suite debuting on the Airbus A350-1000 โ€” Deltaโ€™s newest and largest aircraft, delivering a 50% premium seat mix, arriving early 2027. Additionally, Deltaโ€™s Airbus A330-200/300 fleet is getting upgraded with suites featuring privacy doors in the Delta One cabin โ€” a first for the fleet โ€” and an elevated onboard experience for all cabins. Altogether, these initiatives are part of one of Delta’s largest fleet upgrade investments, totaling more than $1B.  

โ€œEvery time a customer boards a Delta flight, the experience and surroundings should feel familiar โ€” creating a sense of home and comfort when youโ€™re away,โ€ said Mauricio Parise, vice president of Brand Experience. โ€œThat was the driving factor behind every intentional design feature and investment we made in developing our brand new A350-1000 experience, which we extended through nose-to-tail upgrades of our A330-200/300s and will continue to roll out across our fleet.โ€

The A350-1000 and A330-200/300 upgrades come on the heels of Delta introducing its modern onboard look and feel in 2025 to overwhelmingly positive feedback and a 25-point increase in customer satisfaction scores. The new interior design is being applied to these ships and on more than 800 aircraft over the next five years as Delta takes delivery of new aircraft and invests in interior refreshes across its current fleet.

Delta has long been the leader in elevating the customer experience, introducing the first all-suite business class cabin in 2017. It would be four years before any U.S. carrier followed Deltaโ€™s lead with an all-suite business class cabin. Delta continues to lead the industry today with the most suites in the sky of any U.S. airline. The airline anticipates 90% of Delta One seats will be suites with sliding privacy doors by 2030.

Delta One: Designed to feel like the only one

Months of research and feedback with SkyMiles Members and Delta people steered every stitch and feature of the next generation suite with partner Thompson Aero Seating to develop a truly bespoke Delta One experience. The result: a seat packed with premium touches, including a 3+ inch longer flat-bed that gives customers more than six-and-half feet to stretch out, a new pillow-top cushion that adds a plush layer on top of the memory foam cushioned seat and smart stowage options that include a cubby for shoes, a tray within easy reach of the flat bed for your phone and a hook for eyeglasses.

โ€œCustomers are clear that comfort is their number one priority when flying Delta One โ€” 97% say Deltaโ€™s flat-bed is the reason for choosing the cabin,โ€ said Parise. โ€œThis led us to a new design that, when combined with our current mattress pad and luxury bedding from Missoni, makes for an incomparable sleep at 30,000 feet.โ€

For those who prefer to binge-watch a favorite show on long over-night trips, the A350-1000 suite features a 24-inch cinema-quality screen โ€” Delta’s largest ever โ€” to enjoy an even larger content library of movies, games, sports and series on the seatback with brighter, sharper images and vibrant colors in high definition. Bluetooth connectivity gives customers the option to pair their own headphones, while wireless charging built-in to a stone in-lay on the console allows customers to keep multiple devices charged as they use each throughout the flight.

And because late-night movies arenโ€™t quite complete without indulging in snacks, Delta is introducing a dedicated refreshment station for Delta One customers located at the main entryway on the A350-1000 and at the front of the A330-200/300. Whether stretching your legs or simply in the mood for something between services, itโ€™s there for you any time โ€” no waiting.

โ€œThis snack station gives customers control over their time โ€“ small choices like when to grab a snack can feel meaningful,โ€ said Parise. โ€œWe are deliberate about making it easy for customers to get what they need when they need it and offering a flight experience that best meets the needs of each customer. Whether youโ€™re working, traveling with kids or simply awake when others are sleeping โ€” itโ€™s there for you.โ€

The next generation Delta One suites on the A350-1000 are set in a reverse-herringbone configuration, with outer rows facing the windows โ€” an important view to customers. This design creates a more expansive feel and additional privacy. The suites adjoining in the middle of the cabin feature the popular sliding window that customers can choose to have open when traveling with a companion or closed completely for privacy.

Many of these same thoughtful design elements โ€” including the pillow-top, wireless charging, tactile seat controls, signature feature lamp, in-suite mood lighting and USB-C โ€”are incorporated into the suites being added to Deltaโ€™s A330-200/300 aircraft, creating continuity in the Delta One experience across fleets.

In consultation with Deltaโ€™s Advisory Board on Disability & Accessible Travel, new accessible features have also been integrated into both the A350-1000 and A330-200/300 fleets. A new, custom-designed seat control center โ€” inspired by luxury vehicles โ€” uses tactile elements allowing customers to intuitively adjust seat comfort through the sense of touch. Tactile features carry over into the lavatories, and each aircraft will have a dedicated accessible lavatory providing more space for customers with reduced mobility.

Premium touches in every cabin for every customer

Every seat on the A350-1000 and A330-200/300 has memory foam cushions to keep customers comfortable on long-haul flights and each has USB-C and international AC power outlets to keep devices charged for SkyMiles Members taking advantage of Deltaโ€™s fast, free Wi-Fi.

Every seat on the A350-1000 and A330-200/300s will have a bigger seatback screen with 4K QLED resolution and Bluetooth capabilities. Powered by the nextโ€‘generation technology from Thales, first announced at CES 2025, the new in-flight entertainment (IFE) system unlocks capability to deliver more content than ever before, bringing a deeper and more varied library of movies, series, live and curated content and interactive experiences, with room to grow over time. Delta SkyMiles Members can sign in to the Delta Sync seatback experience to access personalized recommendations and real-time travel notifications delivered directly to their seatback screen, available on more than 430 aircraft today.

Cabin lighting is also designed for every moment of flight through the entirety of the aircraft, from warm and inviting hues at mealtime to low and relaxing settings for sleep and a gentle transition to daylight to help customers adjust to a new time zone upon arrival.
