China Airlines’ (Taipei) Boeing 747-409F B-18717 (msn 30769) overran runway 34L at Seattle/Tacoma International Airport on landing yesterday afternoon (November 22) in a snowstorm. The freighter ran approximately 100 feet passed the end of the runway into the runway safety area. There was no damage or injuries.

China Airlines (Taipei) is planning to join the SkyTeam alliance.
The airline issued the following statement:
“China Airlines, the flag carrier ofย Taiwan, today (September 14) formally announced the start of its joining process leading to full entry into the SkyTeam airline alliance. The process is expected to be completed by mid-2011. The announcement comes just a few months afterย China Easternย signed an agreement to join SkyTeam.”

China Airlines (Taipei) will add new service to London (Heathrow) from Taipei starting on March 28. The new route will be operated with 276-seat Airbus A340-300s and will operate three days a week.
