Eurowings sees a comeback of business travel, arrives in Ukraine

Business travel makes a comeback after a long Corona gap: against the backdrop of rising demand, Eurowings is significantly increasing its flight program for business travelers at its largest German airports. With the start of the business travel month of September, the airline will double its range of business connections on short notice compared to August 2021. This is the airline’s response to growing demand for classic business destinations such as Paris, London, Rome, Brussels, Zurich, and Vienna.

โ€œFor a year and a half, most business travelers have hardly maintained any personal contact with customers, business partners or international operations. These trips are now being made up for โ€“ right across Europeโ€, says Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof. Eurowings, the largest airline at Dรผsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Cologne/Bonn airport, is a good example of this trend: bookings for business destinations have more than doubled within a few weeks, even though still from low levels. Bischof: โ€œFor the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, we are seeing sold-out business class on numerous flights โ€“ another clear signal that business travel is now making a strong comeback after the end of the summer vacations.โ€ Accordingly, Eurowings significantly expands its network and from September will once again be offering customers around 300 business connections via direct flights.

Eurowings doubles flights to business destinations

Connections that are in high demand, for example to Zurich, Copenhagen, Dresden, or Bremen, will now be offered twice daily with attractive off-peak times โ€“ with a focus on flights from Dรผsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Cologne/Bonn. Eurowings is thus doubling frequencies in September and October compared with August. The airports of Berlin, Hanover, Nuremberg, and Leipzig will also be served more frequently from September, making it easier for Eurowings customers to plan day trips. Connections such as Dusseldorf-Leipzig, Dusseldorf-Nuremberg, Hanover-Stuttgart, and Hamburg-Nuremberg are now once again in daily demand โ€“ and can be found accordingly in the Eurowings flight schedule.

New attractive business routes throughout Europe

Further highlights in the flight schedule from September and October: Eurowings passengers can now once again fly directly fromย Hamburgย to Prague, Paris, Barcelona, Mรกlaga, Cagliari, Faro, Rome, London, Naples, and Valencia. Fromย Cologne/Bonn, the airline will fly its guests to Budapest, Brindisi, Rome, Malaga, Bologna, London, Milan, Naples, Lamezia Terme and Salzburg.ย ย Stuttgartย will be connected by direct flight with Alicante, Bilbao, Faro, Brussels, Graz, Rome, and Milan. Fromย Dรผsseldorf, passengers will now fly to Lisbon, Linz, Zagreb, Kiev, Wroclaw, Geneva, Lyon, Dublin, Bucharest, Edinburgh, Jerez, and Newcastle. The Canary Islands will also be served again in September and October by flights from Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, Stuttgart, and Dรผsseldorf.

Ten airport lounges reopen from September – new in Cologne/Bonn, Sylt, and Salzburg

During September, Eurowings passengers can make their journey even more pleasant and enjoy the time before their departure in one of the ten newly reopened airport lounges – such as at Cologne/Bonn Airport. Among other things, hot and cold meals, drinks, and free WLAN are on offer. In addition to the applicable COVID 19 hygiene regulations, hand disinfection dispensers are also available to passengers. Access to the lounges is available to Eurowings BIZclass passengers, Miles&More HON Circle members, and senators with SMART fare tickets. An overview of all lounges is published onย eurowings.com. Miles & More customers also earn double Miles & More status miles as well as HON Circle miles on all Eurowings flights until the end of 2021. The double miles are credited automatically after the flight.

In other news, Eurowings is once again flying nonstop to Ukraine: the airline is launching a new direct connection and flying its passengers from Dรผsseldorfย Airport to the Ukrainian capitalย Kyivย for the first time in a long time.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, an Airbus A320 takes off from Dรผsseldorf Airport at 11.30 a.m., arriving in Kyiv at 3.10 p.m., and on Fridays at 6.50 a.m., landing at 10.30 a.m. The return flight departs on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3.55 p.m. with arrival at 5.40 p.m. in the North Rhine-Westphalian capital, and on Fridays with departure at 11.15 a.m. in Kyiv and landing at 1.00 p.m. All flight times are local times.

Since July, Eurowings has also included flights to Tbilisi in Georgia, to Yekaterinburg and Krasnodar in Russia as well as to the Armenian capital Yerevan in its program. Eurowings is the leader in this market segment and is steadily expanding its position due to increasing demand. Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine and also an important location for business and education. With almost 3 million inhabitants, the metropolis on the Dnieper River is the most important Ukrainian transport hub.

Eurowings to offer more flights from Stuttgart to more than 60 destinations with 15 based aircraft

The summer holidays will soon begin in Baden-Wรผrttemberg. Over the past weeks and months, Eurowings and its employees on board and on the ground have been working intensively with their partners at Stuttgart Airport to prepare for the start of the most wonderful time of the year. After the long lockdown, the desire to travel is greater this summer than it has been for a long time.

Greatest variety in the Southwest: Eurowings takes off from Stuttgart to more than 60 Destinations

With a rising vaccination rate, the demand for flights has increased significantly. Tourist destinations are demand – above all Mallorca, Greece, the Canary Islands and Croatia.ย  Eurowings has reacted to this by successively expanding its flight program – and has increased its offer in Stuttgart, the largest Eurowings location in southwest Germany, by another 40 per cent during the holidays.

From Stuttgart, Eurowings offers travelers the largest range of flights at the location during the summer holidays: Over 60 destinations in 18 countries are on the program. On the first holiday weekend, Eurowings expects around 25,000 passengers at the airport in the state capital. In total, the Lufthansa holiday carrier will take off from Stuttgart around 1,800 times during the summer holidays in Baden-Wรผrttemberg. Even if Eurowings offers a large part of its original route portfolio again over the summer, the program in 2021 will only comprise around two-thirds of the pre-Corona capacity overall.

With the expansion of the summer offer, the active aircraft fleet is also growing: While Eurowings was still operating 12 aircraft from Stuttgart at the beginning of the summer, the airline will be using 15 Airbus aircraft in Stuttgart from August. This makes Stuttgart the second largest Eurowings base in terms of the number of aircraft stationed there. Across Europe, more than 80 aircraft will be flying for Eurowings in midsummer.

With Eurowings over 40 times a week from Stuttgart to Mallorca

With its wide range of holiday offers, Eurowings is positioning itself as Germany’s leading holiday airline on short and medium-haul routes for the start of summer 2021: Majorca continues to be very popular with travelers and tops the hit list of Eurowings’ most popular destinations again this summer. From Stuttgart alone, Eurowings flies to the Balearic island up to six times a day during the holidays. In total, Eurowings connects 24 airports in Germany and Austria with the popular holiday destination and is the undisputed No. 1 Mallorca shuttle with more than 300 weekly flights.

Greek Heraklion and Thessaloniki, Ibiza and Malaga also enjoy strong demand and are served daily. Other destinations include Sardinia, Croatia, Sicily and the smaller Greek islands. City travelers don’t miss out either: Eurowings flies several times a week to Athens, Barcelona, or Budapest, for example.
